Ms. Yaffe spent the early years of her career providing counselling and crisis intervention for adolescents who required special attention due to emotional difficulties, truancy, academic failures and facing verbal and physically abusive behaviours, Initially, she worked as a Clinical Social Worker and then as a Psychotherapist across various facilities in the US. After relocating to Dubai she spent some time as a Behavioural Consultant at the Doris Duan-Young Autism Center and the Kids in Motion Paediatric Therapy Services.
She has tremendous experience administering clinical evaluations and counselling adults, children, and adolescents from culturally diverse and socio-economic backgrounds. She deals with their challenges, which involve coping with mental health disorders, substance abuse, and trauma. She facilitates groups in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and substance abuse and uses the latest techniques available like Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Emotion-Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy and Psychodynamic Therapy, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
